Big Win! Seattle ends business with Wells Fargo in solidarity with #NoDAPL

Campaign Victory image for persuading Seattle to divest 3 billion from Wells Fargo for their fossil fuel financing
wells-dd

We had a beautiful victory today. With a unanimous vote, the City of Seattle ended its business with Wells Fargo because of its funding of the Dakota Access Pipeline…so Wells Fargo has taken a $3 billion hit because of your work, your activism. Thank you.

Next up, we’ll be urging the City of Seattle pension fund to fully divest from fossil fuels. Despite the fact that over $5.2 trillion has now been committed to fossil fuel divestment, the City pension board (SCERS) continues to invest tens of millions in coal, oil, and gas projects that are incompatible with a livable planet.

We’re launching our new Seattle Divest campaign on Wednesday, the 15th of February. We need hundreds there.

Are you able to make it?

Where: Seattle City Hall, 2nd Floor Lobby, 600 4th Ave, Seattle, 98104
When: Wednesday, February 15th, 12-1:30pm
What: Seattle Divest Campaign Press Conference and Campaign Launch

Please RSVP and invite your friends.

If you are a City employee or retiree who supports fossil fuel divestment, can you also please sign this petition?

When we come together, we win. And we’re going to win again.
