Housing is a human right a powerful Green New Deal solution. Social housing built by our developer would be to the highest energy efficiency standards known as Passive House. Well-connected, mixed-income and working-class neighborhoods near public transit, rooted by social housing, are key to building a low-carbon and eventually no-carbon city.
We will gather by the community center at 11am, have a brief volunteer training and a couple speakers from 350 Seattle and AECJ about why social housing is a climate justice solution. Then we’ll split off into groups to gather signatures from who want permanently affordable housing!
Meet back at the community center at 2pm for a picnic in the park!
