Happy holidays, and best wishes from all of us at 350 Seattle! A week ago, I sent a pleading email to our Leadership team asking

Local wildfires, a monster hurricane season — the impacts of a warmer climate are obvious. So there’s your motivation. And here’s, oh, just a few ways to take action:
Remember the climate fast? Here at 350 Seattle, we don’t usually see legislative work as being our core role, but sometimes, well….nothing is more important. And right now, there’s action in Olympia, with federal representatives home for town halls, and important possibilities brewing.

The urgency of the climate crisis demands a passionate and resolute response. Over three days next month, we’ll put our bodies on the line to stop the flow of oil into and out of the March Point refineries.
The future we hope for is beautiful — full of clean air, healthy neighborhoods powered by renewable energy, and solidarity for all beings sharing Earth as home.

I hope that these simple excursions, while much different than our extended treks possible pre-children, help my kids learn to love and respect our Earth and the life it supports.
