Jess Wallach

Campaigns Co-Director

Pronouns: She / her

Jess Wallach is a daughter, sister, friend, and garden mother who makes her home in occupied Duwamish territory/Seattle. Jess stumbled into activism and 350 Seattle one wintery day in 2017, when walking by a ruckus outside the downtown Wells Fargo building — there, a slick-talking ‘banker’ leaned out of a prop teller’s booth and urged herto open a loan with Wells Fargo, so that her money could fund prisons and pipelines. From that moment, she was all in: creative action helped her find power and connection in the face of overwhelming crisis.

Prior to jamming with 350 Seattle, Jess was a gardener/permaculturist and before that, an educator with big passion for community-based research. She lifts up her mentors at Puget Sound Sage, where her student practicum and experience co-authoring “Our People, Our Planet, Our Power” set her frame for climate justice and committment to anti-racist climate action.

Jess is (always) training for the Wallach family scrabble tournament, and welcomes any cool words you’d like to share with her.
