We want healthy lungs, accessible public transportation, thriving neighborhoods powered by renewable energy, where everyone can afford their bills and everyone gets to be well.

Why We Fight

The climate crisis is already here

The planet is boiling, basic needs are hardships with runaway inflation, people born in this city can’t stay here. Corporations and wealthy elites are burning up the planet for profit and our conservative politicians are dancing in the ashes

despite all of their pledges.

A voluntary transition from a fossil fuel economy is not inevitable.

In the summer of 2015, 350 Seattle activists joined thousands of citizens in campaigning, and ultimately canceling Shell Oil's plan to drill in the Arctic.

After months of pressure, in 2017 Seattle voted to divest $3 billion from Wells Fargo because of the banks funding of the Keystone XL Pipeline.

We have to fight. We deserve the good life. We deserve better choices than the ones now presented.

We're building the road to a healthy future by forging cross movement coalitions.

On September 28, 2022, the Healthy Through Heat and Smoke Campaign won funding to upgrade half of Seattle’s 26 community centers to be climate resilience hubs through the metropolitan parks levy.

After a year of campaigning, canvassing, lobbying and marching, in 2023 the Seattle City Council unanimously passed the Building Emissions Performance Standard.

When climate activists, labor unions, community organizers, frontline coalitions and everyday folks like you and me unite -
